Digital Strategy and Marketing Manager
The Digital Strategy and Marketing Manager will support the marketing and recruiting of qualified prospective students for application and enrollment with digital and other marketing strategies through creation and updating of organic and paid web content consisting of multimedia, graphical, video, social media, marketing and advertising elements. The manager will report to the Sr. Director of Enrollment Services and identify, evaluate, implement, and report on effective strategies utilizing tactics for search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email, social networking, texting and mobile, print advertising, event marketing and partnerships. Candidates must have experience with and knowledge of content management systems, web and print graphic design software and digital marketing tools. The ideal candidate will have experience writing and editing web content and promotional materials. This individual will work with teammates, internal stakeholders and outside vendors to execute effective initiatives that are in line with the University's overall marketing and enrollment goals.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated creative skills portfolio with writing and design samples.
Excellent working knowledge of graphic programs: Adobe Creative Suite 6 Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign or similar applications.
Experience in writing and editing promotional copy with adherence to a style guide and SEO practices.
Content management systems experience (CMS).
Functional expertise with HTML, CSS.
Experience with email and texting campaign development and execution.
Working knowledge of data collection, evaluation and reporting of web applications to attribute effectiveness across all digital marketing channels.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and accomplish tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and keep all projects progressing.
Experience working collaboratively with a team or overseeing direct reports.
Critical thinker with demonstrated ability to interpret guidelines, policies and procedures to fit fluid situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Outlook, Excel and Word.
Possess skill levels to accomplish all of the listed job duties.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Work Experience
Five or more years of marketing experience to include at least three years of digital marketing strategy experience.
Considerable experience posting paid advertising over multiple digital marketing platforms.
Experience developing and implementing digital and social media advertising strategies.
Preferred background in Communications, Digital Marketing, Business, Marketing, Graphics or related field.
Two years plus of hands on experience with SEO, SEM, Google Analytics
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional hours on weekends for special projects.
