Job Description

The Campaign Data Developer is responsible for assisting with the scheduling, development, and execution of Marketing Communications campaigns. Under the direction of the Campaign Development Manager (CDM), this position is expected to execute marketing campaigns by following set processes to ensure that list and content development tasks are completed accurately, on time, on budget, and they meet business objectives. This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Digital marketing campaign strategy and implementation:

  • Executes, assists with, and reports on digital marketing efforts (i.e., email, digital advertising, website, and social media outreach) to ensure list extractions and HTML and campaign content are delivered accurately, on time, and on budget
  • Contributes to overall campaign strategy
  • Serves as ESP super user

 Marketing campaign design and optimization:

  • Builds and optimizes automated customer journeys, based on business objectives and strategy
  • Develops HTML creative and manages template production and updates, including collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure templates meet business needs and follow best practices
  • Identifies operational improvements and enhancements with campaign workflows

 The buyer’s process and market intelligence:

  • Develops and maintains understanding of the whowhatwhenand why behind the decisions our customers make
  • Reports email campaign analytics and insights to drive understanding of how our buyers make buying decisions using the marketing information and content we provide
  • Develops and maintains deep understanding of business needs, marketing goals, and campaign strategies

 Industry trends:

  • Learns, recommends, and executes new marketing campaign strategies, tactics, and designs
  • Identifies and runs tests to validate effectiveness of new approaches
  • Contributes to best practice recommendations based on campaign performance analysis, industry trends, and technological advancements

Qualifications & Education:

Any combination or equivalent:

  • BS / BA degree, preferably in Marketing, Marketing Communications, or related field
  • Experience in database marketing and campaign management required, including experience with enterprise email technology
  • Working knowledge of database software (i.e., SQL, Cognos, SAS, Access)
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and Dreamweaver
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Adestra or similar ESP preferred
  • Working knowledge of Java Script preferred
  • Experience with interactive tools and technology such as Unica
  • Analytical skills, including quantitative analysis (marketing or financial), reporting, mathematical and statistical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts and processes to non-technical staff
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of campaign management best practices and trends
  • Proven problem-solving skills, and proactive efforts in seeking solutions to problems
