Job Summary

The Assistant Media Manager (AMM) is an integral part of the Media Outreach, Partnerships & Innovation Center of Excellence within Ad Councils newly organized Media Team. The Ad Council Media Team is responsible for conducting outreach to more than 200 U.S. media companies, across all platforms, and securing over $1B in donated media support annually. We ideate, evaluate and develop custom, large scale social good partnerships with media companies to ensure our campaigns are seen by the intended audiences. These targeted partnerships allow us to drive the most impact in raising awareness on the nations most pressing causes.

You will support the Ad Councils Media Outreach, Partnerships & Innovation teams helping to pitch, develop, and execute successful media partnerships. Reporting to the Media Manager, you will touch all aspects of the media business assisting with concepting, evaluating, and executing strategic media partnerships on behalf of Ad Councils 40+ social impact campaigns. Additionally, you will manage administrative duties for a roster of National Media accounts as well as the Chief Media Officer, assist in meeting preparation and follow-up, execute against quarterly media planning tasks and help build custom partnerships. You will also work part time with the Ad Councils VP, Emerging Media and Technology in a similar capacity to support the core responsibilities for this new and growing business unit, which is focused on the future state of media and discovering and evaluating partnerships within the metaverse and Web3.

This fast-paced position is perfect for someone who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and personalities, has strong organizational instincts, written and oral communication skills, is a great project manager, and has an appetite for learning the latest in media trends.

The compensation package for this position includes an annual base salary of $54,000. This position is eligible to receive overtime, an annual incentive, generous benefits and paid time off.

What youll do

  • Work collaboratively across media outreach team to manage work flow, meet important project deadlines, assist in securing donated media and execute strategic partnerships.
  • Manage administrative duties for the team, consisting of but not limited to; updating Salesforce, requesting and routing media assets, and scheduling meetings.
  • Research and evaluate partner capabilities including but not limited to advertising and marketing products, innovative technology, partnership case studies and social good initiatives for partnership consideration
  • Help concept, manage and execute custom social good partnerships and immersive experiences on behalf of the Ad Council and our 40+ social causes
  • Assist in the preparation for National Account meetings by developing pitch decks, taking notes and helping with follow-up communication
  • Schedule and participate in partnership meetings with existing and prospective media and technology companies, which includes setting a meeting agenda, active listening and contributing, note-taking and follow-up.
  • Compiling research to help evaluate and discover new opportunities within the metaverse and Web3 ecosystem
  • Work with Digital Media department to traffic and deliver digital creative assets; this could include creating tags, requesting asset resizes, and getting approvals from sponsors and media partners.
  • Work with Media Analytics team to analyze donated media reports as needed and help evaluate partner support calling out areas for concern
  • Participate in team brainstorm/ideation sessions
  • Support media outreach efforts and partnership reporting compliance for Salesforce. Database management as needed in Google Docs and Excel
  • Request self-reporting metrics from media partners and monitor and evaluate partnership impact.

What you bring:

  • 2+ years professional sales, marketing, or agency (media or account management) experience
  • Familiarity of the media industry landscape
  • Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interface with Senior clients and see projects from start to finish
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff within and outside of the department
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Goal oriented, problem solver and team player.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exercise good judgment: operate with warmth, a collaborative approach and can do mindset
  • Interest in media trends and technology advancements

Qualities of a standout candidate:

  • Passion for causes, volunteering, and/or philanthropy
  • Standard computer and database management skills; Salesforce, Tableau and Smartsheet experience
  • Experience working in an agency or media company
