I am a journalist with over 30 years’ experience, now working as a freelance editor/proofreader and writer and looking for work-from-home opportunities.
I am proficient in handling sensitive assignments where copies need careful handling, and am also skilled in writing, editing and correcting copies with speed and accuracy.
I have worked for Cactus Global and UVO affiliated Jobs for Editors as freelance editor and was earlier full-time journalist with leading Indian dailies such as The Indian Express, Hindustan Times and DNA, and the news magazine Outlook.I have also written on jewellery for a Sweidish company.
I am interested in travel writing.
Two of my articles have been published by Economic and Political Weekly, one of which, Water Conflicts in India, A Million Revolts in the Making, was part of a book published by Routledge,
I have also written a book for the government of the state of Sikkim (India) – “GREEN GOVERNANCE: Environmental Stewardship in Sikkim” – on the state’s environment and government’s initiatives for protecting it.
Apart from writing news reports and feature articles, I have also conducted research, field studies and prepared reports on a variety of issues for organizations like the United Nations Development Programme, the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies, the Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace and the Centre for Science and Environment.
